Pelican Island Audubon Society

Pelican Island Audubon House is a lovely facility located in the middle of 430 acres of county conservation land on Oslo Road (195 9th St SE) in Vero Beach. The facility has outdoor and indoor classrooms with a ‘sit spot’ on the southside of the building. All our plantings are native with many pollinator and host plants for bees and butterflies. We have a volunteer run nursery area on site, where we grow native trees and plants. Plant sales take place on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday mornings 9-11 a.m. We give away four types of native trees, and as of August 2023 we have distributed over 18,000 native trees and plants. We have bathrooms and lovely trails around the property. All of our programs and field trips are free of charge. The Audubon House is home base for several childrens programs including Indian River County RiverkidZ. RiverkidZ is an environmental club open to kidZ of all ages. Pelican Island Audubon Society is very honored to partner with FYCCN as we believe all kidZ have a voice and kidZ should have fun as they learn and become advocates for the natural community. By educating and empowering youth, and partnering with FYCCN, we can reach more kidZ that are underrepresented and underserved in our local communities.
