Let’s take a swim! Snorkeling is a great activity for those who love swimming and taking in the sights down below. Snorkeling is a bit different than scuba diving in the fact that you don’t use an oxygen tank, instead you utilize a breathing tube for air when at the surface of the water. Give it a try, let’s explore the waterful world beyond!
Look up! Meet the peregrine falcon. You can see them in Florida this time of year during their seasonal fall migration. The peregrine falcon is the fastest bird on the entire planet! They can dive at speeds up to 200 miles per hour while trying to catch prey mid-air! Peregrine falcons reside in high places like cliffs and at the top of tall buildings.
Remember: Keep a map in hand, use bug spray, pack salty snacks, and take shaded breaks for a safe outdoor adventure! #explorewisely
Grab your dive flag, bucket, goggles, and have some fun! Scallop season is on in much of the Gulf Coast! For open areas, rules, and regulations visit myfwc.com! (Video by Carli Segelson)
Spread the word! We’re hosting an “Archery is for Everyone” Try Archery event on Aug. 26th!
Whether you're perched under a towering tree, gazing at a tranquil pond, or nestled in your backyard, nature journaling invites you to create a deeper relationship with the natural world and with yourself.
