Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge

Visitors to the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge can experience the Florida Everglades just miles from the busy noise and traffic of city life. Stop by the visitor center to learn about educational and interpretive programs, freshwater fishing, boating, nature photography, canoe and kayak rentals, and limited deer, alligator, duck, and coot hunting. Visitors can enjoy viewing wildlife on over 50 miles of walking, biking, paddling, and horseback riding trails.

We offer a variety of environmental education programs to youth and adults of all ages. Programs focus on protecting our native wildlife, plants, and the Everglades ecosystem. Programs include a variety of guided walks and tours, hands-on programs, and special events including Everglades Day (February), Family Fishing Day (June), National Public Lands Day (September), and more. A calendar of events is available on the refuge’s website.
