Volunteer Opportunities

The Suncoast Youth Conservation Center (SYCC) is looking for passionate volunteers to join them in “creating the next generation that cares” about Florida’s natural resources. Our volunteers help us with everything from invasive plant removals to engaging visitors at our nature center in Apollo Beach, and more! Take a look at our options below and see if an opportunity meets your interests!

Occasional Service Volunteer (OSV)

Looking to volunteer, but short on time? Then our OSV opportunity may be right for you!

SYCC relies on OSVs to aid in completing projects such as grounds maintenance, invasive species removal, and gear maintenance. The OSV role does not require a set time-commitment nor prior experience/training.

Age requirements: 16 and up (with signed permission form for minors). There are occasional opportunities for volunteers younger than 16 if accompanied by a parent/guardian.

If you are interested in becoming an OSV, email us at Suncoast@MyFWC.com to sign up for our contact list. We send out recruitment emails for OSV opportunities one to two weeks ahead of each event.
