Cox Science Center and Aquarium

Serving Palm Beach County since 1961, the Science Center revolves around a simple premise: science is exciting! Our mission is to “Open Every Mind to Science” and we are delivering on this promise by providing schools, visitors and campers an entirely new set of science programming. The Science Center features a variety of interactive exhibits. The Aquariums of the Atlantic features 10,000 gallons of fresh and saltwater tanks that are home to some of Florida’s most beautiful aquatic residents. The Florida Conservation Station and the Hidden World of the Everglades exhibits give visitors a glimpse into the life of a biologist and gives them an idea of the immense variety of life in Florida and the complex relationships among living things. We also have unique outdoor activities like our Conservation Course – an 18-hole miniature golf course surrounded by babbling brooks and butterfly gardens – and the Fisher Family Science Trail. The science trail is a 1/4 mi trail through 15 exhibits including the Physics Forest, FPL SolarScape, splash pad, gem panning station, shark tooth dig pit, pinic areas, and more! The Science Center is pleased to partner with the FYCCN to present programming such as Project WILD in our school break camps and in our Jr Naturalist program.
