Windley Key Fossil Reef Geological State Park

Visiting Windley Key Fossil Reef Geological State Park is a Florida Keys experience unlike any other! Learn about recent human history in the area and about the construction of the famous Flagler Railroad in our Alison Fahrer Education Center. Immerse yourself in the hardwood hammock, get lost among vegetation of the tropical forest, and get a glimpse of what the Keys are really about. Discover with your own eyes how the Florida Keys were formed, and study the coral fossils embedded in the quarry walls from over 125,000 years ago. Ranger led tours are at 10am and 2pm from December through April. If you prefer a self-guided tour, ask a ranger and they will provide an interpretive guide for you. Housed at the Education Center, this park also has a powered mobility chair by Action Trackchair, that is free to use for guests with park entry. With well groomed trails and interpretive signage, this park welcomes visitors from all walks of life!
