Pine Jog Environmental Education Center

Pine Jog, a division of the College of Education of Florida Atlantic University, was one of the first environmental education centers in Florida and is one of the oldest in the country. For over 60 years, Pine Jog has been operating with the purpose of developing, providing, and modeling environmental education programs which foster an awareness of and appreciation for the natural world, promote an understanding of environmental concepts and instill a sense of stewardship toward the earth and all its inhabitants.

The sanctuary is set on 135 acres that includes pine flatwoods, oak hammock, wetland, and prairie ecosystems. Over five kilometers of trails are available to explore. FAU Pine Jog Environmental Education Center prides itself on being the cornerstone of excellence in outdoor, experiential, hands-on exploration and research. We offer K-12 educational programs, services, and resources to schools, afterschools, and the community at large. Our student programs offer tools for students to apply experiential opportunities to traditional learning methods that enhances critical-thinking about sustainability and conservation initiatives.
