Friends of MacArthur Beach State Park

John D. MacArthur Beach State Park was established in 1989. It is the only state park in Palm Beach County! Situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Lake Worth Lagoon, the park is 436 acres of natural environments, including seven species of plants and twenty-two species of animals designated as endangered or threatened. Visitors to the park can spend time hiking the park’s trails, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, snorkeling the rock reef, and visiting the beach. This park also provides an ADA Tram service, beach wheelchairs, and an ocean wheelchair for visitors.

The Friends of MacArthur Beach State Park has an award-winning Environmental Education Program where students in Palm Beach County learn about the ecosystems in South Florida while being immersed in them. We also offer environmental science camp programs for ages 6-17 where campers explore and learn about the park’s habitats and how to be environmental stewards through activities such as seine netting, kayaking, conducting reef fish counts, meeting our park rangers, and more!
