Zoo Miami Foundation

The mission of Zoo Miami is to encourage an appreciation for the world’s wildlife and to help conserve it for future generations. The Zoo Miami Foundation is the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that supports Zoo Miami in fulfillment of its mission. The Zoo Miami Foundation Department of Education offers an array of programs both on and off Zoo Miami grounds. Conservation Teen Scientist is a high school volunteer program that trains youth in STEM fields, exposes them to many facets of zoo operations, and prepares them to relate their knowledge to the public. ZooNature Family Adventures is an outdoor, offsite program focused on family nature play opportunities in nearby county, state, and national parks. Citizen science opportunities enable youth to participate in the scientific process by helping to collect environmental and wildlife data. Additionally, day camp and night programs engage youth audiences through dynamic ways using Zoo Miami’s living classroom.
