Tradewinds Park and Stables

At roughly 625 acres, Tradewinds Park & Stables is one of Broward County’s largest and most diverse parks. Tradewinds Park was acquired in 1974 from Margueritte C. McLean, whose family used the property for breeding and raising thoroughbred horses. The north side of the park is a rural farm setting with livestock and horses and includes educational farm tours, trail rides, pony rides, horse and junior farmers camps, a farmhouse museum, and model steam train rides. Tradewinds Educational Farm was developed to reflect the history of agricultural activities in Broward County. On the south side of Sample Road, you’ll find a disc golf course, a lake for fishing, athletic fields, and world-famous Butterfly World. Both sides of the park include playgrounds and picnic areas, as well as rental shelters of various sizes.
