Heritage Nature Conservancy

Heritage Nature Conservancy is the home of the City of Ocala’s bat and owl program, where rangers frequently educate the public about our resident Barred Owls and Mexican free-tailed bat population. Heritage Nature Conservancy, locally referred to as HNC, contains one of the few bat houses located within the city limits of Ocala, and hosts an estimated population of over 10,000 Mexican free-tailed bats. Additional wildlife education programs offered at HNC include frog, lizard, and animal tracking.
