Crandon Park Nature Center

Crandon Park lies on picturesque northern Key Biscayne, Florida; formerly one of the largest coconut plantations in the United States as well as former location of that Crandon Park Zoo. The Crandon Visitors and Biscayne Nature Center serves as a window into Bear Cut Preserve, 264 acres of preserved barrier island habitat. Within the preserve various ecosystems can be observed including: dunes, maritime hammock, mangrove forest, and sea grass beds. The Visitors Center’s exhibit & aquarium room displays recreated native marine ecosystems, and interpretive exhibits. Nature Center staff can assist with orientation to the self-guided nature trails and provide park/trail maps.
