Nestled inside Tenoroc Public Use Area in Lakeland, encompassing nearly 8,000 acres of conservation land and recreational opportunities, Tenoroc Youth Conservation Center holds the promise of providing unparalleled experiences in fishing, boating, shooting sports, and wildlife discovery. The expansive landscape features 31 lakes, indoor and outdoor classrooms, and multiple shooting ranges, providing limitless opportunities for youth to intimately connect with nature.

TYCC Provides engaging year-round educational programming both onsite and offsite, along with immersive summer camps in June and July. Thoughtfully positioned in Central Florida, TYCC ensures convenient accessibility for youth and families in Polk, Hillsborough, and Orange Counties. We hope you’ll visit us this year as we help to “Create the Next Generation That CaresSM” about Florida’s amazing natural resources!

Tenoroc Youth Conservation Center Directions map

Tenoroc Youth Conservation Center is not currently open to the public except for camps, education programs, and special events. Tenoroc Public Use Area is open to the public Friday through Monday. Tenoroc Shooting Range is open to the public Thursday through Monday.


From Orlando:
Take I-4 West to exit 38 and turn left onto SR- 33 S. Turn left onto N Combee Rd then turn left on Tenoroc Mine Rd. Proceed 1.4 miles. You will see a line of orange cones on your right, but you will turn LEFT into the green gate, you will then arrive at the Daphne Flowers Wood and Charles Martin Wood III Education Center. You have arrived at Tenoroc Youth Conservation Center.

From Tampa:
Take I-4 East to exit 33 and turn left onto SR- 33 N. Turn right onto Old Combee Rd. then turn right onto N Combee Rd. Turn left on Tenoroc Mine Rd. Proceed 1.4 miles. You will see a line of orange cones on your right, but you will turn LEFT into the green gate, you will then arrive at the Daphne Flowers Wood and Charles Martin Wood III Education Center. You have arrived at Tenoroc Youth Conservation Center.

If arriving on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday: the main gate will be half open and a sign will read AREA CLOSED. If you are attending camp, a field trip, or a program, please proceed.
