Meet the Tenoroc Team

Planning a trip to Tenoroc Youth Conservation Center or getting ready for an exciting week of summer camp? Meet the team ahead of time! 

Clara Zubrick: Director

Clara Zubrick

Clara’s passion is engaging youth with the natural world through meaningful education experiences, imparting a passion and excitement for all living things and a desire to conserve our ecosystems for future generations. She grew up in Houston, Texas where she spent as much time outside as possible. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Marine Science and Master’s of Art in Natural Science and Environmental Education. Before joining the Tenoroc Team as Director, Clara worked in marine mammal research in Alabama and natural resource management with Florida State Parks. In her free time, she loves nothing more than exploring native habitats, kayaking with her black lab, Emmett, and reading.

Conrad Provan: Education Specialist

Conrad Provan

Conrad lives to share his love for wildlife and the outdoors through the lens of discovery, wonder, conservation experiences, and a hint of comedy with all ages. He grew up in rural Buckeystown, Maryland near the slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Organismal Biology & Ecology and a Master’s of Science in Environmental Biology. Before his time at Tenoroc, Conrad was a park ranger for the National Park Service working in Colorado, South Florida, Maryland, New Mexico, and Utah. In his free time, he loves to go hiking, kayaking, playing soccer, volunteering at National Parks, and researching natural/human history. 

Lillie Mairena-Sullivan: Education Specialist

Lillie Mairena Sullivan

Lillie has always had a passion for education and loves to foster people’s enthusiasm for and knowledge of our natural world. She grew up exploring the marshy fenlands and reclaimed flint mines of East Anglia, England. Lillie has a Bachelor’s of Science in International Affairs and Middle Eastern Studies from Florida State University and a Master’s of Science in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Oxford. In addition to her work with TYCC, Lillie is a Fish and Wildlife Technician for Freshwater Fisheries Management. Outside of work, she enjoys camping, cooking, kayaking, mushroom hunting, concerts, and can still be found outside chasing lizards and picking up snakes. 

Driving Directions to Tenoroc Youth Conservation Center

*Tenoroc Youth Conservation Center is not currently open to the public except for camps, education programs, and special events. Tenoroc Public Use Area is open to the public Friday through Monday. Tenoroc Shooting Range is open to the public Thursday through Monday.*

From Orlando:
Take I-4 West to exit 38 and turn left onto SR- 33 S. Turn left onto N Combee Rd then turn left on Tenoroc Mine Rd. Proceed 1.4 miles. You will see a line of orange cones on your right, but you will turn LEFT into the green gate, you will then arrive at the Daphne Flowers Wood and Charles Martin Wood III Education Center. You have arrived at Tenoroc Youth Conservation Center.

From Tampa:
Take I-4 East to exit 33 and turn left onto SR- 33 N. Turn right onto Old Combee Rd. then turn right onto N Combee Rd. Turn left on Tenoroc Mine Rd. Proceed 1.4 miles. You will see a line of orange cones on your right, but you will turn LEFT into the green gate, you will then arrive at the Daphne Flowers Wood and Charles Martin Wood III Education Center. You have arrived at Tenoroc Youth Conservation Center.

If arriving on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday: the main gate will be half open and a sign will read AREA CLOSED. If you are attending camp, a field trip, or a program, please proceed.
