Overview

EYCC is an ideal destination for one to two night mini camps, workshops, retreats, and field trips. Groups may reach out as early as August to book EYCC from October – Mid April. Don’t wait! Spots fill up fast. Email EYCC@MyFWC.com for more information. Note: rental use is exclusive to family-oriented events and youth serving organizations.  

Rental Use Information

  • Availability: Our availability, food service, and activity offerings may vary depending on group size, staff availability, and other events. We’ll do the best we can to provide your group with the best experience possible! 
  • Minimum group size: 40 
  • Maximum group size: 100 (Contact us for more information if your group is over 100). 
  • Friday – Sunday bookings are strongly preferred. EYCC will work with schools to accommodate weekday scheduling. 
  • Check in: is on the day of arrival between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm. The group may not begin using the facility until check in is completed by the group representative or designee. 
  • Check out: is on the day of departure between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm. The campground host will begin their inspection of the facility at 10:00 am.; 
  • Chaperones: Adults are required to supervise minors at all times. Chaperones will  be expected to assist our small team of five staff with managing group behavior. 
  • Our site has ten air-conditioned bunkhouse style cabins. Eight cabins have a twenty-person capacity, and two have a sixteen-person capacity. 
  • Three of the cabins have bathrooms and showers.  
  • Minors must be supervised by an adult in the cabin at all times. 
  • EYCC’s campground is an open field next to our fishing area and Bathhouse B.  
  • The campground can accommodate up to forty-two tents. 
  • EYCC has two bathhouses each with seven private stalls. Each stall includes a shower, toilet, and sink. 
  • Our certified Food Protection Manager works with groups to design meal plans that best fit their budget and dietary needs.  
  • Meals are prepared and served by EYCC staff and volunteers in the dining hall.  
  • Groups do not have access to EYCC’s kitchen facilities. 
  • EYCC provides access to a standard size refrigerator and deep freezer for groups to store personal food. An ice machine is available for groups using coolers. 
  • There is a charcoal grill underneath the pavilion which groups are permitted to use. Charcoal is not provided. 
  • Groups will be responsible for cleaning up after meals. 
  • Dining Hall: This large multi-use space can sit up to 100 people. The pavilion outside the pavilion provides seating for overflow. 
  • Classroom: Our classroom is a versatile space that can accommodate up to 45 people. The classroom also includes a storage closet, standard fridge, and freezer for group use. 
  • Pavilion: EYCC’s pavilion is located behind the dining hall and includes a charcoal grill. This shaded space can accommodate up to 80 people comfortably. Note: charcoal is not provided. 
  • Fishing Pond: Groups receive bait, tackle, and basic instructions in our large fishing area. Bluegill and catfish are the most common species caught. 
  • Canoeing and Swimming Pond: Groups may canoe in EYCC’s beautiful legacy lake while supervised by EYCC’s trained staff. The lake includes a swimming area, however, groups must provide a certified lifeguard. 
  • Archery Range: EYCC has certified Level 1 USA Archery Instructors available to supervise our modest archery range with five field targets. Our set of universal compound bows are great for beginner archers.  
  • Wetland Wonders: Our most popular program focuses on the history and ecology of Florida’s wetland ecosystems. Students will learn how Florida’s geological past and human impacts have shaped the incredible wetland-aquifer system we have today. Through hands-on games and wet-lab experiences students will learn about the water cycle, food webs, and more. Prepare to get wet! This program includes dip netting in EYCC’s Legacy Lake.  
  • Bird’s EYE View: Bird’s EYE View is an engaging program which teaches students about adaptation by studying the incredible biology of birds. Students compare and contrast the physical and behavioral characteristics of native species. This program includes a bird behavior scavenger hunt where students hike EYCC’s trails to observe birds in their natural habitat. Students also learn about human impacts on bird populations and migration through our hands on “Great Migration Challenge”. 
  • Dynamics of The Everglades: This program includes a 1.2 mile hike along the Hungryland Boardwalk. Students will collect data to compare the living and non-living characteristics of a pine flatwood, cypress swamp, and hardwood hammock. Students will learn the key characteristics of these habitats while observing the native flora and fauna.
