Summer Camp
Week 1: July 14th-16th
Campers will become wildlife detectives in this immersive Wildlife Discovery Camp, exploring the plants and animals of wetlands and uplands through hands-on science and outdoor adventures. Through birding bingo with binoculars, wetland exploration, and microhabitat field studies, participants will learn how different species use their environment. Campers will investigate wildlife signs using owl pellets, pelts, and kinetic sand tracks, check and set trail cameras, and discover which animals visit when people aren’t around. Interactive lessons on baby birds, pollinators, reptiles, and gopher tortoises bring life cycles and adaptations to life, while activities on prescribed fire and biodiversity reveal how habitats stay healthy. Games, crafts, and microscopes keep learning fun and engaging as campers build curiosity, respect for wildlife, and confidence through exploration of the natural world.
Week 2: July 21st-23rd
Campers will step into the world of wildlife and archery in this hands-on, adventure-filled camp that blends outdoor skills with animal science and ethics. Participants will learn to recognize animal calls, experiment with camouflage, and explore tracks and signs to understand how wildlife moves through an area. Beginner archery instruction and fun archery games will build confidence and accuracy. Campers will also set up and check trail cameras to see what animals visit the area, take part in interactive activities about ethical hunting and proper shot placement, and explore how adrenaline and decision-making affect the hunt. With engaging games and discussions, this camp helps youth develop respect for wildlife, sharpen observation skills, and safely experience the excitement of archery in an educational setting.
