Getting Started

Hiking is fun, affordable, and an easy activity to get involved in. Follow these tips for the best experience possible:

  • Before you hit the trail, make sure youโ€™re capable of traveling the entire distance of the trail youโ€™re planning to tackle.
  • While many trails are clearly marked, itโ€™s still important to check a map before you head out so youโ€™re confident about your route.
  • If youโ€™re planning on doing some hiking in Florida State Parks, State Forests, Wildlife Management Areas, National Federal Lands, and Eglin Air Force Base, make sure you have the necessary permits.

Thereโ€™s nothing better than being out in the fresh air, getting some exercise, and seeing the outdoors in a whole new way. So, go take a hike!
