Boating Safety Class at the Suncoast

The Coast Guard Auxiliary team is hosting a boating safety course at the Suncoast Youth Conservatioin Center in Apollo Beach Saturday, January 14, 2017, from 8 am to 5 pm. This beginner boating class will cover the knowledge needed to obtain a Boating Safety Education Identification Card in Florida. To operate a motorboat of 10 horsepower or greater, Florida law requires anyone who was born on or after Jan.
Did you know that every person born after January 1, 1988 must have a boater safety ID card to operate a motorized boat of 10 hp or more in Florida? If you need this card, the Suncoast Youth Conservation Center is hosting a US Coast Guard Auxiliary Safe boating Class on: Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Grow as We Grow - Children in the Wild

Grow as We Grow explores the life cycles of wildlife and understanding that living things grow and change. We use classroom and outdoors activities, games, reading, and arts & crafts in our Children in the WIld monthly series while we explore the many facets of wildlife. Nature Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival

This month's Children in the Wild will explore the world of fish in "Fishing Fun!". Children ages 3 - 7 years will learn about fish and the sport of fishing through classroom activities. Our take home craft project will be Gyotaku the Japanese art of fish painting. We recommend bringing a painting apron or wear clothes that can get paint on them.
