10 CAN is a not-for-profit organization designed to Save Heroes through Faith, Family, and the Great Outdoors. Our mission is to heal heroes, raise warriors, and restore families through outdoor recreation, education, and rehabilitation. We rally communities to support military and first responder families, diversify the outdoors by recruiting minorities, and feed underprivileged families. Our programs consist of Hunting, Fishing, Farming, Survival, and Disaster Response.
At Lake Kissimmee State Park, Florida's cowboy heritage comes alive with living history demonstrations of the early Florida "cow hunters" in an 1876-era cow camp. White-tailed deer, bald eagles, sandhill cranes, turkeys, and bobcats have been seen in the park, which is located on the shores of lakes Kissimmee, Tiger and Rosalie.
Collier-Seminole State Park features recreational camping with 105 campsites, water and electrical hook-ups, laundry facilities and three bathhouses with hot showers. A primitive backpacking site is also available via the northern trail and a remote primitive camping site on the river at "Grocery Place" is available with reservations by calling the park office at 239-394-3397. Four walking/hiking/biking trails are available but expect limited access during certain times of the year. Please call the ranger station for trail conditions.
Anastasia State Park is part of the Florida Park Service, under the Department of Environmental Protection. Conveniently located in the bustling historic town of St. Augustine, Anastasia State Park also provides beautiful beach recreation. Outdoor educational programs for school groups are offered as well as interpretive programs such as marsh and beach walks with a ranger, and sea turtle and history programs for the whole family.
Over 6,000 acres of pristine land and water south of a sharp bend in the St. Johns River makes Dunns Creek State Park home to several unique natural communities, which makes it a great place to recreate. There are plenty of unique trails with abundant wildlife as well as an ADA compliant fishing platform and floating canoe launch. Dunns Creek, in conjunction with Ravine Gardens State park, offers a variety of programs for the public including summer youth camps and family kayaking opportunities.
Everything we do at Outdoor Youth Adventures is to enhance the lives of local youth by providing them opportunities to get outside, experience the Florida outdoors, and become stewards of the local environment. We are able to do so through educational programs, exploration, adventure and experiential learning.
This 39-acre park, long nicknamed the "Gateway to the Everglades," is located at the western end of Griffin Road, off U.S. 27 in Water Conservation Area 3. The park offers airboat rides, boat ramps, fishing, wildlife viewing, food concessions, boat rentals, alligator shows, animal encounters, and guided Naturalist Tours. Patrons may also view the beautiful scenery of the Everglades, River of Grass, by hiking around the lake and on the levee adjacent to the park.
West Lake Park is situated in southeastern Broward County, occupying a three-mile strip of mangrove estuary and uplands immediately west of the Intracoastal Waterway within the cities of Hollywood and Dania Beach. West Lake has 47,800 feet of waterfront with an additional 20,600 feet of mangrove-fringed shoreline along the interior waterways. The ecological importance of the relationships between mangroves, our coastal waters, and the adjacent uplands cannot be overemphasized.
The Southern Sportsman Outlet is making it a top priority to help bring new growth to the archery community in the Jacksonville area. Through our adult and youth archery programs, including archery lessons, indoor fun shoots, archery themed birthday parties, archery themed team building exercises, and indoor league shoots we believe Jacksonville has the potential for serious growth in the near future.
