Horseshoe Lake Park

Horseshoe Lake Park provides outdoor and resource-based recreation programs that enhance the quality of life for residents. Recreation and play are important for healthy lifestyle, and we utilize natural resources to help build stronger families. While recreational activities are fun it is important to note that they provide life lessons that build success and happiness among youth and adults.

UNF Eco Adventure's Environmental Education

Our mission is to provide meaningful experiences in nature and improve the quality of life of students, youth and the Northeast Florida community through experiential education in the Sawmill Slough Nature Preserve on campus. Eco Adventure is part of the Recreation Department in the University of North Florida. It had its beginnings 30 years ago when the nature trail system began and the university began to rent canoes to students.

Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens

Our mission is to foster understanding of the interaction of people, wildlife and their environment by creating experiences that engage our guests; providing fun and innovative educational opportunities; funding operations, expansion, and programs through an entrepreneurial spirit with public and private partnerships; instilling passion in the next generation as responsible stewards of the future. Palm Beach County Extension 4-H

Our mission is to help youth develop life and workforce skills through experiential learning. We currently serve 6000-7000 youth per year through Science, Citizenship, and Healthy Living programs throughout schools and community sites. Programs include school enrichment, afterschool, clubs, competition and camps. Outdoor offerings include a wide variety of 4-H Project Areas and Curriculum such as PLT, Project Wild/Flying Wild and Project Wet.

Riverbend Park

Palm Beach County Department of Parks and Recreation
Riverbend provides a variety of hiking, biking, wading, canoeing and wildlife watching programs for private, public and school groups offering a closer look at the environmental and historical aspects of Riverbend. School programs are tailored to meet grade curriculum objectives. Fun special events for the public are offered throughout the year and summer camp programs are available in the summer.
