The mission of the YMCA is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. At Camp Winona, we fulfill this mission by engaging youth and families in programs such as swimming, paddle sports, and sailing on our beautiful Lake Winona. Other popular programs include archery, riflery, fishing, paintball, team sports, and high and low ropes course challenges including a zipline! We offer 6 one-week sessions of residential summer camp as well as 2 family camp experiences and additional youth weekend camps.
Liberty County High School “The Club” is a community site for the Boys and Girls Club of Tabula Rasa. At Boys and Girls Club of Tabula Rasa, Our mission is to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us the most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. Our goal is to provide a safe environment for personal growth in academics, arts and fitness.
In conjunction with St Johns County Parks and Recreation, the Environmental and Habitat Conservation Division is committed to educate the future leaders, decision makers, and members of society about the importance of environmental issues we face today as they relate to tomorrow. St Johns County Environmental Division specifically educates the youth about local coastal environments and conducts various educational programs including Shorebird steward days, kayak trips, after school programs, school presentations, and summer camps.
Our mission at Fort King National Historic Landmark is to develop an educational park that provides both historical and nature-based programming. The park will provide Florida history education about the Second Seminole War as well as camping and outdoor recreation-skills classes and programs. We have recently broadened our focus on programming for teens, especially outdoor programs for minority and lower income youth in the Ocala community.
The Life Academy campus is a 7 acre facility with tennis courts, a bike track, large playgrounds, 25 yard swimming pool, canoeing pond, ninja course and indoor play areas. The property is family owned and operated and the Life Academy programs are based on 30 years of working with youth in Apollo Beach here at the Apollo Beach Racquet and Fitness Club.
The Riverview and Gibsonton community have enjoyed a brand-new YMCA since January 2019. The Spurlino Family Y is the newest location in the Tampa Y association. The building is LEED Gold Certified and won a design award from the Hillsborough County Planning Commission in Fall 2019. Families can join a reading club for little ones, youth sports and swim lessons for all ages. Adults and kids can enjoy the great outdoors on the walking trail and shaded picnic areas. The Spurlino Family Y is more than a place to work out, it's a place for family fun.
Orange County Parks and Recreation's mission is to maintain beautiful parks, preserve the environment, and provide exceptional recreation for the well-being of our communities. Moss Park offers a variety of programming for youth, families, and adults. Year-round there's something for everyone including orienteering, nature walks, and
availability for youth groups to use the park's great camp grounds. Many youth organizations such as Boy and Girl Scouts, Nature Play Kids, and YMCA groups visit the park to camp, fish, and engage in team-building activities.
The Environmental Discovery Center's mission is to foster an awareness of the natural environment by providing stimulating environmental educational programs that inspire participants to be active stewards of their surrounding natural resources. The Center hosts Enviro Camp during summers for elementary school aged children (7 to 10 years old.) Camp activities include but are not limited to hikes, scavenger hunts, hands-on experiments, kayaking, archery, and crafts to help children appreciate their natural surroundings and learn ways of becoming good stewards of our environment.
10 CAN is a not-for-profit organization designed to Save Heroes through Faith, Family, and the Great Outdoors. Our mission is to heal heroes, raise warriors, and restore families through outdoor recreation, education, and rehabilitation. We rally communities to support military and first responder families, diversify the outdoors by recruiting minorities, and feed underprivileged families. Our programs consist of Hunting, Fishing, Farming, Survival, and Disaster Response.
The Royal Rangers provide youth mentorship training with the emphasis on Christian character development and leadership. We do this by providing fun adventure-based training in a variety of environments. One of our key adventure environments is outdoor activities, many of which include traditional conservation focused activities such as canoeing, fishing, archery, and gun safety and marksmanship.
