Archbold Biological Station

Archbold Biological Station is a research, conservation, and education non-profit based in the headwaters of the Everglades. Our education programs focus on exploring nature, learning about science careers, and fostering a sense of place. Some educational outreach includes: Florida scrub field trips, summer camps, ranch eco-tours, classroom visits, public events, science fair judging, and tabling festivals. Archbold is also a longtime member of the League of Environmental Educators of Florida.

Hilliard Parks & Recreation

We provide sports programs and events focused on providing youth with education on proper physical fitness, healthy eating, and keeping the environment clean. Our sports include soccer, basketball, flag football, fishing and occasionally tumbling/gymnastics or martial arts. The Town of Hilliard has an annual "clean-up day" I which we encourage youth and their families to join us in walking through our neighborhoods to clean up debris.

Jacksonville Children's Commission

At Jacksonville Children's Commission, we work to create viable solutions for families and kids within the community. We do our part to make sure kids have the support they need to thrive. Our organization provides summer lunch, kindergarten participation, after school care and many more services to make certain that children have assistance they need. Our mission is to support families and their effort to maximize their children's potential to be healthy, safe, educated and contributing members of the community.

Nassau County 4-H

The Nassau County 4-H Youth Development program create supportive environments for diverse youth to reach their fullest potential. Through hands-on activities, Nassau County 4-H provides youth the opportunity to gain knowledge and develop life skills that will lead them to be responsible citizens. 4-H focuses on many program areas including environmental science, agricultural, leadership, S.T.E.M., and community service.

Guana Totonato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve

The GTM Research Reserve is a collaboration between Florida's Department of Environmental Protection and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The Reserve covers74,000 acres of coastal lands in northeast Florida and offers interpretive exhibits, aquariums, classrooms, teaching and working laboratories, an auditorium and an outdoor amphitheater overlooking the Guana River Aquatic Preserve. Our Coastal Training Program offers trainings for professionals on issues of concern in our local community including watershed, invasive plants, and much more.

Ochlockonee River State Park

This jewel of a park is a great place to get away for a weekend or a week-long vacation. Picnic facilities and a swimming area are located near the scenic point where the Ochlockonee and Dead Rivers intersect. Ochlockonee, which means "yellow waters," is a mix of brackish, tidal surge, and fresh water. Pristine and deep, the river empties into the Gulf of Mexico. Trails allow visitors to explore the park and see the diverse wildlife, including the red-cockaded woodpecker, and natural communities such as pine flatwoods and oak thickets. A boat ramp provides easy access to the river.

Center of Anna Maria

The mission of The Center is to serve as a gathering place for the community to come together and make friends. The Center strives for excellence in meeting the human service needs of all those living on or nearby our barrier island. The Center is focused on the community and open to all.
