Canaveral National Seashore, part of the National Park Service, is located on the Atlantic coast of central Florida and is comprised of nearly 58,000 acres of natural barrier island, open lagoon, coastal hammock, pine flatwoods, and offshore waters. With 24 miles of pristine beach, it is prime habitat for many threatened and endangered species providing nesting beaches for several thousand protected marine turtles. The Park Rangers at Canaveral offer numerous environmental and conservation related programs to the public, and in summer of 2021, they began their new Jr.

Lake Aurora Christian Camp & Retreat Center

Lake Aurora Christian Assembly is a camp and retreat center dedicated to helping youth and families to develop core values based on Christian principles. It is our goal to give each participant a wholesome life experience in an outdoor setting. To accomplish this we network with churches, educational, public and private organizations who share compatible philosophies and goals.

Lake Aurora Christian Camp and Retreat Center currently offer archery and freshwater fishing programs that FYCCN and the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida have assisted with.

The Environmental Learning Center

The Environmental Learning Center's (ELC) mission is to educate, inspire, and empower all people to be active stewards of the environmental and their own well-being. Since its inception, the ELC has served over 1.5 million people and provides over 530 programs annually, each designed to help people connect with, protect, and preserve local natural resources and wild spaces.

Foundation for Dreams

Dream Oaks Camp provides a program that gives children with special needs an opportunity to identify their incredible potential by teaching them life skills in a healthy, inclusive environment. While participating, children engage in adaptive activities, learn new skills and develop productive behaviors while having a blast. As the child attends Dream Oaks Camp, staff and parents collaborate to identify two individualized targets they want their child to work that fall within four domains: social interaction, activities of daily living, behavioral skills, health/hygiene.

Girl Scouts of Citrus - Mah-Kah-Wee Program Center

Following the Girl Scout tradition, the Girl Scouts of Citrus build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. We are the leading organization for girls in Central Florida, and their growth is our goal! Our Mah-Kah-Wee Program Center is a 250-acre site in Chuluota, that was purchased in 1970. It's name, Mah-Kah-Wee meaning "Earth Maiden," was the result of a troop contest and was dedicated in 1971. At this beautiful outdoor oasis, Girl Scouts and families alike can engage in archery, swimming, paddle sports, camping, hiking and much more!

Sheriff's Youth Ranches - Youth Camp

As the founding camp property of the Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranches, Inc., Youth Camp was purchased in Barberville in 1982, and has lead the Sheriff's Youth Ranch mission to prevent delinquency and develop lawful, resilient, and productive citizens. Youth Camp boasts 200 acres and includes many water bodies on site, making it ideal for favorite outdoor activities like canoeing, fishing and hiking! The camp is available for rentals through most of the year but is occupied in the summer by youth from all over the state!

Loxahatchee Slough Natural Area

Nine native Florida ecosystems are preserved at the 12,841-acre Loxahatchee Slough Natural Area: mesic flatwoods, wet flatwoods, mesic hammock, hydric hammock, wet prairie, depression marsh, slough marsh, strand swamp, and dome swamp. Loxahatchee Slough Natural Area serves as headwaters of the Wild and Scenic Loxahatchee River, is part of the Jeaga Wildways, and is a featured part of the Ocean to Lake Hiking Trail from Lake Okeechobee to the Atlantic Ocean.

Florida Sheriff Youth Ranches

The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches began in 1957 with our Ranch in Live Oak, FL. Our Camping Services department begin in 1983 in Barberville, FL at our Youth Camp. As of 2020 there are 4 residential ranches, 3 overnight camps, and one day camp. During our summer program we offer 7 mobile camps through out the state every week.We work with youth in need of services who would not have the opportunity to go to summer camp. Our camping motto is "Law enforcement officers are your friends". Alongside our camp counselors, deputies volunteer a week at a time to come spend time with our campers.
