"It Starts in Parks!" The Parks and Recreation Department shall continue to improve the quality of life through parks and recreation services and create a connection between the community, its partners and the City of North Miami. Enchanted Forest Park is a 22 acre urban nature park that features, a walking trail, butterfly garden, community garden, nature center, community center, horse stables, playground, covered shelters and open spaces.
The Tarpon Springs Recreation Department is committed to providing its citizens with a wide variety of recreational opportunities supported by our parks, personnel and facilities. Our goal is to deliver superior programs and services which meet the needs of the community in a cost-effective manner.

Bordering the populous Miami - Dade County on the Atlantic Coast, the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Preserves manage approximately 69,000 acres of natural resources. The public can explore this unique estuary with marine biologists through hands-on experiences i.e. wading, boat tours, kayak tours, and Bayologist Camp. Home to the occasional bottlenose dolphin, manatee, sea turtle, seahorse, and osprey.
The Calhoun County 4-H Extension Service provides research-based educational programs in the program areas of agriculture, horticulture, family consumer sciences and 4-H youth development. 4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential working and learning in partnership with caring adults. Through 4-H, youth are leading a Revolution of Responsibility - a movement for positive change in every community in Calhoun County, Florida.
The purpose of Liberty County 4-H is to develop leadership, character, and good citizenship in America's youth. By emphasizing the development of the Head, Heart, Hands, and Health, 4-H leads youth to produce their best. Adult and youth volunteers lead local school and community 4-H clubs, advising and encouraging club members as they plan and carry out projects. 4-H is open to all youth ages 5 to 18 regardless of race, religion, sex, national origin or handicap and involves urban as well as rural youth.
Our mission is to empower youth and expand their possibilities through teaching them to fish and enjoy the outdoors. We give them an opportunity to develop skills and enhance their self-esteem. We also aim to provide exceptional experiences for youth, teaching life skills to stay off drugs, in school and out of gangs. Recently we have added more boating, snorkeling and scuba certification.
Our mission is provide resource based recreation while preserving, interpreting and restoring cultural and natural resources. Manatee Springs State Park is a Florida State Park located six miles west of Chiefland on SR 320, off US 19. Manatee Spring is a first magnitude spring that flows directly into the Suwannee River by way of a short run. Present also are swamps and hardwood wetlands along the Suwannee, along with many sinkhole ponds, including one with a cave 90 feet below the ground that connects to a popular divers' destination known as the catfish hotel.
