MacKay Gardens and Lakeside Preserve is a 112-acre preserve and historic site of the 8,000 foot restored 1915 MacKay family home that sits on the shores of Lake Rochelle. Currently the site is used for events such as weddings and for meeting facilities. There is an active volunteer group that maintains the grounds, provides horticultural presentations, and interpretive nature hikes. The site is also used for special events such as astronomy programs, movie nights, and an annual bluegrass music festival. Orchestral concerts are planned for the future.
