The Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department provides the opportunity to experience fun and rewarding recreation programs, event and leisure activities, in an aesthetically pleasing and safe environment accessible to all. The Parks and Recreation Department has earned national accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA), confirming their commitment to quality and efficiency. Some of the programs offered to youth are sailing classes, drum circles and Fit Kidz Club.
